Hadronic Spectral Moments in Semileptonic B Decays With a Lepton Energy Cut
We compute the first two moments 〈(sH − mD 2)1,2〉 of the final hadronic invariant mass in the inclusive decay B → Xc l ν̄, in the presence of a cut E min l on the charged lepton energy. These moments may be measured directly by experiments at the Υ(4S) using the neutrino reconstruction technique, which requires such a cut. Measurement of these moments will place constraints on the nonperturbativ...
متن کاملHadronic Invariant Mass Spectrum in B → X u lν Decay with Lepton Energy Cut
We discuss the implications of charged lepton energy cut to the hadronic invariant mass spectrum in charmless semileptonic B decays. Charged-lepton energy cut is inevitable in order to remove secondary leptonic events such as b → c, τ → l, and to identify the chaged leptons at detectors experimentally. We consider three possible lepton energy cuts, Ecuts l = 0.6, 1.5, 2.3 GeV, and found that wi...
متن کاملLepton Dipole Moments
From the famous experiments of Stern and Gerlach to the present, measurements of magnetic dipole moments, and searches for electric dipole moments of “elementary” particles have played a major role in our understanding of sub-atomic physics. In this talk I discuss the progress on measurements and theory of the magnetic dipole moments of the electron and muon. I also discuss a new proposal to se...

متن کاملDiagnosing GRB Prompt Emission Site with Spectral Cut-Off Energy
The site and mechanism of gamma-ray burst (GRB) prompt emission is still unknown. Although internal shocks have been widely discussed as the emission site of GRBs, evidence supporting other emission sites, including the closer-in photosphere where the fireball becomes transparent and further-out radii near the fireball deceleration radius where magnetic dissipation may be important, have been a...
